Face Lift

A Facelift is a useful but commonly misunderstood surgery. This surgery attempts to lift the fat in the cheeks and remove the excess skin of the cheeks. It can soften nasolabial folds and jowls, but will not eliminate them. Facelift surgery does not address the eyes, nose, mouth or chin. It is frequently combined with a necklift to transform the jawline as well. Often, patients have lost volume in their face over time and need added volume as an adjunct, either with fat grafting at the time of surgery or with fillers in clinic before or after surgery.

Recovery Timeline:

1 week – Suture removal
2 weeks – Typical time off work
3 weeks – Resume low-impact exercise
6 weeks – Resume all exercise without restrictions
3 months – Majority of swelling gone and wounds 90% strong
1 year – Final healing

Neck Lift

A necklift is similar to a facelift but performed on the neck. It is often combined with a facelift to treat both the face and neck, but can be done in isolation. This surgery tightens the muscles in the neck and removes the excess skin. We attempt to improve definition along the jawline as well. People with a more defined jaw bone and chin will have better results with definition. We also try to improve muscle banding in the neck, though some people get some recurrence of this with time. Even with the tightest necklift at surgery, the central skin under the chin will always relax a little over time.
